Community Organization Updates The organizations on pages 18 and 19 are community based groups or groups who serve the San Geronimo Valley and Nicasio communities. Many of these organizations attend Healthy Community Collaborative meetings which generally take place quarterly. San Geronimo Valley and Nicasio organizations are invited to submit a short update on their work, as well as a photo. Each organization is responsible for the content and accuracy of their submission. The Community Center does not exercise editorial control of these submissions. If your organization is interested in submitting an update please email dfogel@sgvcc.org.

This wonderful, family-oriented event returns to Archie Williams High School on Saturday July 12, 2025, from 8:30am-11:30am. Participants register at the door,
and all ages are welcome. Entry fees are $10 for grades 6 through 12, and $20 for all others. For more information, email: saintvincentdepaul@strita.edu. Hope to see you there! Long time Steward board member, Cal Fire pilot, Jim Barnes said, “Firstly, Marin Co. Fire and all our City and volunteer fire departments backed by Cal Fire are among the greatest wild land firefighters in the world. Secondly, Marin Co is doing great work with vegetation management. I have total confidence in our fire departments to handle and contain fires from the initial attack stage to large extended attack fires. But we are considering something different in Fire Storms. Fire storms (as those in LA) cannot be stopped by all the apparatus and personnel we can muster until winds subside. During that time our main defense is depen- dent on preparations made before the event (such as the creation of safety zones)” . Stewards are in ongoing communication with the County and Cal Fire to answer our community concerns. We want to keep the community updated on new information.
