Skiing In the CSS Championships held at Mt Hutt, Sam Hadley was the fastest overall individual, with Tom Picton- Warlow (2nd), Ned Botherway (5th), and Dom Botherway (9th) all finishing in the top 10 and powering the College team to 1st place. College successfully defended the individual and team titles. Sam recently attended the NZ National Ski Championships at Mt Hutt. Competing in both the Giant Slalom and Slalom, he enjoyed success in the Open Men’s and Junior Men’s grades. In the Giant Slalom, Sam finished 3rd in the Men’s Open and won the National Junior title. In the combined event, he was 3rd in both the Men’s Open and Junior competition. Clay target shooting It was a very proud moment as the College No. 1 team was awarded the 2021 Season Open Teams’ Cup. It was awarded to the School Points Team with the most wins in the season. College achieved wins in four of the six Canterbury Secondary School competitions. Throughout the season, College No. 1 included different shooters from the wider squad. It was a true team effort. In the last round, the top four shooters shot very well to achieve 234/240 and only dropped six shots all day. The six members of the team awarded the cup after the last round were Tom Macdonald (Captain), Harry Trolove, Henry Lassen, George Helmore, Charlie Burdon and William Drummond. The South Island Secondary Schools’ clay target shooting championships were held in Timaru at the start of the July holidays. A team of 10 shooters travelled down for the event which involved more than 180 shooters from more than 30 schools. After a day of shooting the College team achieved the following results. Charlie Burdon achieved a major result by winning the 2021 South Island Secondary School Skeet High

Over All Champion award with a perfect score of 25/25 (the only 25 of the day). The College senior team of Tom Macdonald, Harry Trolove, Henry Lassen, Charlie Burdon, and George Helmore won 2nd place in the South Island 5 person

Points Teams event. The College Skeet 2-person skeet team of Tom Macdonald and Henry Lassen won 2nd place in the SI Skeet Teams event.
