College – Issue 41

Colin Sweetman, who was Bursar for 21 years until his retirement in 2017, said he was happy to do something for College. “It’s nice to do something for the school and give back. My gift is for use for general purposes, whatever is deemed appropriate at the time.” Another Old Boy, Andrew Logan,

said he had had a happy time at College “and it created the

confidence and opportunities for me to do what I’ve done in my life”. “That was great motivation. I also made some wonderful friendships at College, which endure to this day.” For Bonnie Perry, the time felt right to give back to College. “You reach a stage where you’ve done reasonably well financially, and I wanted to help children from refugee families gain access to a College education.” Much of Bonnie’s career was spent working in countries where deprivation prevented children from obtaining a good education. “I wanted to make sure that some of these refugee children will have access to opportunities.”
