TWO METHODS: 1. PREP » Apply blocking mid-span between joists. NOTE: To properly install the Trex RainEscape system over the steel joist system requires a minimum of two people.

INSTALL MID-SPAN JOIST BLOCKING FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE JOIST TO ALLOW ROOM FOR THE TROUGH

CUT 3” -6” STRIPS OF DOUBLE-SIDED TREX RAINESCAPE TAPE AND PLACE EVERY 16” TO 20” ALONG THE JOIST & PERIMETER, LEAVING BACKING ON

» Take 3-4" strips of our Trex butyl tape to hold downspouts to deck joists. Tape on either side of downspout to secure. » Instead of using staples, attach the trough material with tape using the same pattern as wood joist. (2A).

3. TAPE AROUND JOIST AND PERIMETER » Cut 3" - 6" strips of the Trex RainEscape double- sided tape and place every 16" - 20" along the joists and perimeter leaving backing on. » Stagger tape on second layer of trough to keep flush and level.
