When selecting your own dinner party attire, take a hint from the invitation. A casual affair lends itself more to short, simple dresses, denim and un-tucked button-down shirts. For a more formal party, try longer dresses with beading or lace; and for men, slacks with tucked button-downs in gray, black or white.
