On behalf of Winston-Salem State University, congratulations on your appointment to the univer- sity’s Board of Trustees. We are pleased that you have accepted the responsibility to serve our amazing students, faculty, staff, alumni, and all the WSSU stakeholders. You are exactly who we need to engage in governance that will make a huge difference in our trajectory now and into the future. At WSSU, student success is at the forefront of everything we do. Our new strategic plan, WSSU 2030 Unleash the Genius, is our bold and audacious plan to put this university on the map as one of the best schools in the country. We offer a quality education provided by student-centered faculty in a caring and supportive atmosphere. Our students will have a life-changing college experience that builds essential skills, develops character, and prepares them for a lifetime of success. It is our hope that you will immerse yourself in the culture of WSSU. We want you to see firsthand why the university has been consistently ranked #1 in social mobility for the past several years. Our faculty and staff have created an immersive learning environment that has yielded countless opportunities for our students to engage in high-impact practices that lead to immediate success upon graduation.
