Lesson 4: Listening and helpful talking cont.

Activity: Helpful talking This is a reflective activity giving pupils an opportunity to reflect on their social networks and who they can turn to for support. When thinking about who they would talk to, they may want to consider who made them feel really listened to in the past and who didn’t in order to identify helpful people. Explain that asking for help is an important skill for all of us to learn

and that it is OK if we don’t quite know what help we are asking for. The important thing is to make the step, and to ask again if necessary and keep trying, even if we have to ask more than one person. Thinking through all the people we could approach in advance really helps with that.
