the International Takotsubo Registry published in JAMA Cardiology 2016. Our case demonstrates an

unusual case of Reverse TC that appears to be related to much lower doses of Adderall than most similar

cases. More so, the slow improvement in ejection fraction is uncommonly seen highlighting the

importance of continued research in drug-induced stress cardiomyopathy.

Conclusion:

Research has shown the growing incidence of stimulant induced cardiomyopathy. Stress induced

cardiomyopathy has an incidence of 15 to 30 cases for 100,000 in the U.S. Despite holding < 5% of the

world population, he U.S. accounts for about 83% of prescribed stimulant medications in the world. With

the use of stimulant medications increasing in U.S., especially in the younger population, cardiologists

must continue to research, recognize, and treat stimulant-induced stress cardiomyopathy.
