In a most interesting section on this “prophetess of God," the au thor tries Mrs. Dixon against Bibli cal criteria for prophecy and finds her seriously wanting. On an array of bases that include her false pre dictions, her failure to point out the sins and transgressions of the peo ple of God, and her failure to warn of coming judgment, she is found to fall below the Biblical standard of a genuine prophet. The book is interesting and valu able reading for the people of God during this era. — 151 pages; hard cover; Bethany Fellowship, Inc., Minneapolis, Minn.; $2.95. — Re viewed by William W. Bass. ARE THESE THE LAST DAYS? by ROBERT G. GROMACKI In the thirteen chapters of this book the author reviews the major subjects of prophetic truth. An apologetic for prophetic study leads off. The imminency of the second advent of the Lord Jesus is argued. The rapture is in view here, of course. The return of Christ to reign follows the tribulation. Signs pertain to the latter. They may be evident before the rapture, how ever. The author seems to apply Luke 21:24 to the present Jewish presence in the land: “Contrary to popular opinion, Israel will be driv en out of the land again” (p. 105). Most prophetic teachers would hold that this occurred in A.D. 70. Oth erwise, the book presents pretty well the generally accepted outline of future events. The title is a bit misleading, in that the book is not specifically addressed to that ques tion. The implication is that we are in the last days, however. The au thor holds degrees from Dallas and Grace seminaries. — 190 pages; cloth; Fleming H. Revell Co., Old Tappan, N.J.; $4.50. Reviewed by Arnold D. Ehlert.
