BY-LAWS (CONT) ARTICLE IX - THE PRINCIPAL

Section 1. The principal shall reserve the right to approve all activities and decisions of the club. Section 2. The principal shall annually appoint a chapter sponsor(s), who may serve consecutive terms. Section 3. The principal shall be in attendance at any events if they choose to participate, but it is not required.

ARTICLE X - DUES AND PARTICIPATION

Section 1. The amount of club dues shall be $60 for new members entering the club, which includes a t-shirt. Junior and Senior dues will be in the amount of $40. The dues consist of the following; membership fee, events (dinners, supplies, refreshments and guest speakers etc.) Members shall not be turned away because of inability to pay, but reasons should be discussed with the club sponsor. Dues can be paid in full or in two payments, which includes the first installment in October and the remaining balance paid in February. Section 2. Participation in each event is mandatory . All major events will be communicated no less than two weeks in advance to allow an adequate time frame for employers of the members. Notice and reasoning for non-attendance in events must be provided to the club sponsor 48 hours prior to the event to be considered as an excused absence. Any notices after 48 hours will not be considered as excused unless it is a death, sickness, or anything ruled by sponsor. Points will not be earned for any absence. Section 3. Non-participation in fundraising activities may be grounds for dismissal by the club officers. Students will receive not more than two (2) written warnings prior to dismissal proceedings being initiated. Section 4. Non-participation in service projects (groups and/or individuals) may be grounds of dismissal by the club officers. Students will receive no more than two (2) written warnings prior to dismissal proceedings being initiated. Section 5. Senior members are able to apply for the Ellene Johnson Rosebud Scholarship in the amount of $1000. The number of scholarships to be awarded each year will be determined by the administrators of the account. It is the intent that this money be made available to students on the basis of scholarship, outstanding character and community service. To be eligible a member must have 2 years of active membership (defined by attending 80% of meetings and performing a min of 20 cumulative hours of community service. Section 6. In order to receive the club graduation cord, members must complete a minimum of 20 cumulative hours of community service within the three years of membership.
