Celebrating The Arts

ARC OF ONONDAGA ACTORS BRING THEATER TO CNY

TRC ARTWORK DISPLAYED IN ARTSCAPE EXHIBIT

The Resource Center (TRC) (Chautauqua) is proud that four members of TRC’s family have works included in the ArtScape 2024 exhibit.: self-advocates Gabe Garofalo and Taynisha Lynch, their Habilitation Specialist Brandi Somerton, and TRC art teacher Susan Gutierrez.

Arc of Onondaga and Redhouse Arts Center, Inc. recently partnered up for the 11th year to bring theater to the Central New York area. More than 40 cast members starred in the production of Tuck Everlasting, which tells the story of the Tuck family, a secret spring of eternal youth, and a young girl's decision to live forever or let her life continue as planned. Artists from Arc of Onondaga performed right alongside professional actors, Syracuse University students, and other local community theatre actors. The program pairs actors from The Arc with community actors who serve as mentors throughout the process. Great job to all of the actors in this production! WRVO published a feature on the play that can be read here.

ArtScape will be on display through June 29, and can be viewed virtually here. The works are also being reproduced onto banners that will be installed on light poles throughout downtown Jamestown, creating an outdoor art gallery.
