On Friday, November 7, from 10:00 to 11:00, Asahi Photo- products will host its second AWP Environment Event on the event stage within the Asahi booth at the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE), running from November 5 10, 2025 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center, Shanghai. The event is designed not only for invited guests, but also to reach a much broader audience across China through CCTV, other TV stations, and major social net- working channels. Its program will bring together industry leaders and ex- perts to discuss: the latest regulations for VOC and CO2 emissions in the packaging printing industry; pathways to carbon neutrality by 2060 in China; and new collaborative projects for sustainable production

The session will feature an opening greeting by Prof. Xu, China Packaging Federation, followed by a panel dis- cussion with Prof. Mo (Beijing Institute of Graphics Com- munication), Prof. Xu (China Packaging Federation), Mr. Yan (Wahaha Group), Ceng (Nine Star Printing Co., Ltd.), and Akihiro (Aki) Kato, Senior General Manager, Asahi Ka- sei Photoproducts Division. During the event, Asahi will also share results from its ongoing CO2 emissions survey for packaging printing, conducted with the Beijing Institute of Graphic Communi- cation since 2023. These findings demonstrate the quanti- tative advantages of flexographic printing in China. “As brand owners and converters look for sustainable solutions, the Recycling, Reuse, and Reduction (3R) of packaging substrates has gained attention,” said Yuji Su- zuki, Technical Support Professional, Asahi Kasei. “Equal- ly important is the printing process itself, which rep- resents the face of the product. Our research shows that flexographic printing can reduce CO2 emissions without VOCs, offering strong potential to support China’s car- bon neutrality target. With the AWP-REVO Ecosystem, we are ideally positioned to enable this transition and help accelerate the adoption of flexographic printing in place of solvent gravure.”
