pornography can be classed as speech that harms women through subordination and
stops their speech counting. It provides the recommendation that Langton (1993)
accepts that uptake is present in illocutionary disablement in order for the way in
which she reaches her conclusion to remain justified, as well as providing a case for
the censorship and banning of pornography and pornographic content.
