The complex interplay between filter bubbles, echo chambers, and media
biases creates a self-reinforcing cycle that increases the sustainability and
amplification of far-right ideologies, thereby intensifying online radicalisation
and political polarisation.
Each of these factors has a clear presence in my three case studies and greatly
contributed to far-right backlash during the COVID-19 pandemic, Black Lives
Matter protests, and the Presidential Election in 2020. This report will analyse
how these events created a surge in far-right participation, and how the crucial
role of the media in facilitating extremist activities.
