She stood on the platform and began. “ Suffer”— it was her first attempt at speaking in the public. She was frightened, and stopped for a moment. Then she began again. “ Suffer little”—again her fear overcame her. But being a determined little one, she made a third attempt, and said, “ Suffer little chil dren.” With a last grand effort, she said, not exactly the verse, but these words: “ Jesus wants us all to come to Him; and don’t anybody try to stop us.” A Teacher's Prayer Dear God, I give myself to Thee In full surrender come. May I never through indifference Keep these children from Thy Son. Help me, Lord, to do my best As I teach these little lambs. May they see the living Saviour Who waits to clasp their hands. Cleanse my heart and fill me That a channel I may be, That many boys and girls may come To His salvation free. — Frances King PEN PAL I would like to be a pen pal with some one. That Never Lost a Man I t w a s a m o n g the Alpine heights. A dangerous crossing had been reached and the passengers were fear ful. Reaching out his hand the guide said to one, “That hand never lost a man.” The traveler passed in safety. Christ is the Guide. He never fails one who trusts in Him. He is able to save unto the uttermost—that is all the way through. Not only can He save the vilest sinner who comes —He can do that, for He has once died for us. But He is able to save right on to the very end the weakest believer, because He ever lives for us. His hand never lost a man or woman or child. His own word is— “M y sheep hear M y voice, And I know them, And they follow M e: and I give unto them eternal life; Neither shall any man Pluck them out of M y hand.” —John 10:27, 28 L ITTLE ONES M A Y COME Children of every age Matt. 11:28 May come to Christ today; 2 Cor. 6:2 May have their many sins forgiven, I John 2:12 HE is the only WAY John 14:6 To bring us nigh to God.
