Ashlyn Phillips Introducing Ashlyn Phillips , aka “Bad Ash Horn,” a versatile musician whose journey from classical horn player to singer- songwriter and holistic health enthusiast is as unique as her Instagram persona suggests. Born and raised in the southern USA, Ashlyn’s musical journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from Oklahoma State University and continued at The University of Texas at Austin, where she earned her Master’s. Ashlyn’s talent as a horn player led her to performance opportunities with the Tulsa Symphony and San Antonio Symphony, as well as a string of competition victories at the Mid-South Horn Workshop. During the pandemic, Ashlyn started creating innovative covers of mainstream pop music, combining her love for singing with her expertise on the horn. And in 2022, Ashlyn began a doctorate degree at the University of Oregon, but quickly shifted gears leaving the classical music scene behind. Seeking a new perspective, she spent a year in Hawaii, working on a farm, living a holistic lifestyle, and rediscovering her connection to music. Now, Ashlyn has emerged as a multifaceted artist, producing original music and breaking the boundaries of musical genres. Beyond music, Ashlyn aspires to be a speaker and a mind, body, spirit coach, sharing her experiences and insights with others on their own journeys of self-discovery.
