Her commissions and premieres include the Worldwide Concurrent Premiere of Yehudi Wyner’s HORNTRIO, the premiere of G. Bradley Bodine’s Rhapsody for Horn and Percussion, commissioned by Dr. Roche-Wallace with grant assistance from the International Horn Society, consortium commission of Anton Plog’s Horn Quartet, and consortium commission/ regional premiere of James Naigus’ Odyssey for Two Horns and Fixed Media. She has performed with orchestras in Louisiana, Tennessee, Ohio, and Michigan, and the Aspen Festival Orchestra, and has presented recitals in nine U.S. states, Canada, and Finland. Dr. Roche-Wallace is in demand as an adjudicator and clinician for Conn/Selmer Musical Instruments, Inc. and has presented programs at Northeast, Southeast, MidSouth, and International Horn Symposia. Catherine Roche-Wallace Alexis Sczepanik Dr. Alexis Sczepanik is the Assistant Professor of Horn at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA and serves as the IHS Area Representative for Louisiana. Before coming to NSU, she taught at Ouachita Baptist University, Midwestern State University, Weatherford College, and served as a teaching fellow at the University of North Texas. She maintains an active performing schedule as 4th horn with the Rapides Symphony, a member of the NSU Faculty Woodwind Quintet and regularly performs with other orchestras in the region including the Marshall Symphony, Texarkana Symphony, Shreveport Symphony, and South Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Sczepanik earned a D.M.A. from the University of North Texas, M.M from The University of Texas at San Antonio and B.M. from Texas State University. When she is not busy teaching or performing, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Cameron, cat Mo, and dog Dodger. Brent Shires Dr. Brent Shires is Associate Professor of Horn and Brass Area Coordinator at the University of Central Arkansas. He also teaches horn at Hendrix College and Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. As an active performer, he holds the positions of Third Horn in the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, Acting Principal Horn of the Texarkana Symphony Orchestra, and Principal Horn in the Conway Symphony Orchestra. He is a founding member of Pinnacle Brass, the resident quintet at UCA, and is on-call in Little Rock performing with national touring shows.
