As a member of Rhythm & Brass and Dallas Brass, he has appeared as soloist with numerous U.S. symphony orchestras, including those in Dallas, Detroit, Milwaukee, Rochester, Syracuse, Tucson, Phoenix, Jacksonville, Oregon, Denver and Grand Rapids. He studied at Southern Methodist University with Greg Hustis, the Eastman School of Music with Verne Reynolds, and the Pre-College Division of the Juilliard School with Harry Berv. Other teachers include Marvin Howe, Nancy Cochran, John Jacobsen and Henry Babcock. Ashlyn Simmons Ashlyn Simmons earned her Masters of Social Work at the University of Arkansas and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Austin, Texas. Before moving to Austin, Ashlyn worked in Kansas City as a clinical therapist at a residential treatment facility for teenage girls in the foster care system. She currently works as a Senior Counselor and Clinical Coordinator at Therapy Austin, a local therapy agency. Ashlyn works with adults and adolescents providing both individual and family therapy services. She specializes in treating developmental trauma, anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflict, and substance use. She is trained in EMDR, Emotion-Focused Therapy, DBT, and uses Interpersonal Neurobiology in her therapy approach. She practices from an anti-racist and anti-oppressive lens, supporting those in marginalized populations to find their confidence and break free from internalized oppression. Beyond her work as a clinician, Ashlyn’s goal is to visit each US National Park with her husband, Curtis. Curtis Simmons Dr. Curtis Simmons is a private lessons teacher, dynamic performer, and music professor in Austin, Texas. Since 2018, Curtis has been enriching the musical landscape of the Austin community through his roles at Leander ISD, Temple College, and Austin Horn Camp. As a private lessons instructor in the Leander ISD, Curtis works weekly with the French horn students at Canyon Ridge Middle School, Four Points Middle School, and Vandegrift High School. At Vandegrift, he leads the masterclasses for TMEA all-state auditions and conducts the VHS Horn Choir. Joining Temple College in 2022, Curtis provides weekly lessons to undergraduate horn students, guiding them through juries, concerts, and recitals.
