In addition to instructing all levels of applied horn and violin, Dr. Thayer teaches lecture courses in aural skills and music theory. She has performed with several bands and orchestras including the Lone Star Wind Orchestra, The Signature Symphony, and the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and hiking with her husband, Richard, and her dog, Rosie. Jeb Wallace Jeb Wallace serves in the dual roles as Associate Professor of Horn at Wichita State University and as Principal Horn with the Wichita Symphony Orchestra. Dedicated to the promotion of works by living composers, Dr. Wallace has collaborated with new music groups such as Alarm Will Sound, TACTUS, Salty Cricket Composers’ Collective, New Music New Haven, The Mostly Modern Chamber Music Society, at KnobFest, the Band on a Can Marathon, and with the GRAMMY winning indie rock band, The National. He has also performed extensively with orchestras including the Utah Symphony, Colorado Symphony, North Carolina Symphony, Omaha Symphony, New Haven Symphony, American Symphony, New World Symphony. Wallace has performed on national tours with Josh Groban, Mannheim Steamroller, and for musicals including WICKED and A Christmas Carol. He regularly appears at festivals across the country. These have included the Sunflower Music Festival, Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute, Tuacahn Summer Orchestra Institute, Performing Arts Institute of Pennsylvania, Brass Institutes of America, Park City International Chamber Music Festival, Calgary HornFest, and Chamber Music at the Barn. In 2019 he was awarded the Faculty Excellence Award for the College of Fine Arts at WSU. Dr. Wallace earned degrees from SUNY Stony Brook, the Yale School of Music, The Cleveland Institute of Music, and the Meadows School of the Arts at SMU. His primary teachers were William Purvis, Eli Epstein, and Gregory Hustis.
