A territory of experimentation for its owner, the apartment welcomes all of Sarah Poniatowski’s creative aspirations. Within this structurally atypical space, she composes a spellbinding scenario pun ctuated by her signature nuances. In the light- drenched living room, “Sarah Blue” comple- ments the azure of the sky painting the hori- zon. In the kitchen/dining room, burning red and fir green sharpen the senses as well as whetting the appetite. Upstairs, the more softly shaded rooms with sloping attic-style roofs, such as the children’s living room, the bathroom and the master bedroom, reflect the esthetic codes of a thatched cottage. The white painted beams, the return of “Sarah Blue” and the square-framed windows whisk occupants off to a seaside atmosphere. A true playground for Sarah Poniatowski, this home is attired in textiles with recognizable patterns and is adorned with iconic pieces by Maison Sarah Lavoine. There is however no question of turning it into a museum. In this veritable ideas lab, the “Riviera” rattan coffee tables are pushed back to welcome guests, the “Léo” footstool is moved to make space for children, and the various antique or vintage objects are switched and swapped in step with successive finds.
T erritoire d’expérimentation pour sa propriétaire, l’appartement accueille toutes les aspirations créatives de Sarah Poniatowski. Dans cet espace atypique par sa struc- ture, elle compose un scénario envoûtant rythmé par ses nuances signatures. Dans le salon baigné de lumière, le « Bleu Sarah » joue la complémentarité avec l’azur du ciel pei- gnant l’horizon. Dans la cuisine/salle à manger, le rouge brûlant et le vert sapin animent les sens, et notamment la gourmandise. À l’étage, les pièces plus feutrées – et mansardées –, comme le petit salon des enfants, la salle de bains ou encore la chambre parentale, em- pruntent les codes d’une chaumière de villégiature. Les poutres peintes en blanc, le retour du « Bleu Sarah » et les fenêtres au châssis carré transportent les habitants en bord de mer. Véritable aire de jeu pour Sarah Poniatowski, ce foyer s’habille de textiles aux motifs reconnaissables et s’orne de pièces iconiques griffées Maison Sarah Lavoine. Pour au- tant, hors de question d’en faire un musée. Dans ce laboratoire d’idées, les tables basses Riviera en rotin se poussent pour accueillir les convives, le pouf Léo se déplace pour libé- rer le passage aux enfants et les objets chinés se succèdent au fil des trouvailles.
