IZLOŽBA / EXHIBITION Veseli pakao poezije / The merry hell of poetry U Muzeju savremene umetnosti Vojvodine otvorena je izlož- ba „Vojislav Despotov: VESELI PAKAO POEZIJE“, koja će tra- jati do 12. januara. Bob Dilan je među nama / Bob Dylan is among us FILM / MOVIE
Directed by James Mangold, best known for the films Logan and Ford v Ferrari, A Complete Unknown chronicles the life of legendary American musician Bob Dylan and stars Timothée Chalamet and Edward Norton in the lead roles. Set to hit cine- mas from 9 th January, this story brings moments from the incredible artistic journey and professional rise of this living legend of the American and world music scene. The plot of the film, which has already been nominated for Golden Globes in the three most important categories, is set in early 1960s New York, when – against the backdrop of a vibrant music scene and cultural upheavals – a 19-year-old Dylan ar- rives in the West Village from Minnesota, armed with only a guitar and his revolution- ary talent. It seems as though he was destined to change the course of American music. While forming his most intimate relationships during his rise to fame, he refus- es to be strictly defined and makes a controversial choice that reverberates around the world. The Museum of Contemporary Art of Vojvodina is hosting the exhibition “Vo- jislav Despotov: THE MERRY HELL OF POETRY”, which will run until 12 th January. In presenting Despotov as a complete author, this exhibition places an em- phasis on his lesser-known fields of work: addressing visual and conceptu- al art, publishing art fanzine books in the 1970s and creating and publishing unique artists’ books (mostly in just a single copy). The exhibition is interdisci- plinary, just like Despotov’s oeuvre, and highlights the complex relationships between literature/poetry/prose and the visual arts, all within an expanded concept/field of culture. As a writer of novels in which footnotes perhaps play a key role – Despotov’s marginalia cast a new light on this author, presenting him as a total artist. In his decades-long career, this accomplished artist has released 40 studio albums and sold over 125 million copies worldwide, winning numerous Grammy awards and even an Oscar for Best Original Song. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he has also won Pulitzer and Nobel prizes.
