RITAM SRBIJE / RHYTHM OF SERBIA
FROM MY ANGLE: MIHAILO ILIĆ, SKIER AND SKI INSTRUCTOR May the snow be good, and the sun high I used to have a scale for
rating mountains and ski runs, but I started to let myself be guided by the idea of Bojan Križaj ever since I first heard it. And that great champion says: every mountain is good, as is every piste, as long it has enough snow and the weather conditions are good I’VE SKIED AND ENJOYED MYSELF EVERYWHERE from Ja- pan , across France, Italy and Ameri- ca, and all over our own beautiful Ser- bia. When I look back, everywhere was magical. It is, of course, easiest for me to skip to Kopaonik or Ja- horina, but I would recommend any mountain that’s filled with snow and smiles. If you must insist, I would nonetheless say that I'm “a Kopaon- ik kid from head to toe”. For the speedier Truly, despite the numerous beautiful mountains across the country, the top three ski runs for me would all be on Kopaonik. It’s worth testing one’s adrenaline on the Krčmar, Crna Duboka and Gvoz- dac runs, though Bela Reka is al- so sufficient for a decent adrena- line challenge when it has enough snow. If you head slightly further south, you’ll come across the beau- tiful Brezovica and its Lion's Gate, while fans of backcountry skiing (off-piste) can try Durlov Potok. To the east is Stara planina and its Konjarnik ski run. For families For those wanting to simply en- joy the enchantment of winter with- out too much excitement, there are Divčibare, Zlatibor and, of course, Kopaonik. Tara is stunningly beau- tiful and provides all the conditions
to enjoy the snow. Golija, Goč and Zlatar also have enough snow cover for family holidays. All the moun- tains I’ve listed are good enough and are equipped with ski runs for novices, where children can feel the snow, skis and snowboards for the first time... These mountains are al- so recommended for beginners be- cause they don’t have steep runs and are places where you’ll easily fall in love with winter sports and the beauty of Serbia. Experienc- ing their natural beauty is further eased through the offer of various
recreational activities, such as ad- venture parks and varied contents for children. For beauty and nature If I wasn’t a skier and wanted to go somewhere just to admire the beauty and nature, I would opt for Tara and Mokra Gora, which are actually parts of the same area. Whether it’s summer or winter, enjoying pristine nature will be your daily reality. This part of Ser- bia has a tourist offer that includes interesting ethno villages and me-
