Our Heritage The first recorded race meetings in Cheltenham were in the early 19th
The National Hunt Meeting commenced in 1911 as a two-day celebration of jump racing, with the four-mile National Hunt Chase as the feature. The meeting attracted a huge public attendance and extensive press coverage and due to its popularity, it was extended to three days in 1923. Iconic races followed: the Gold Cup debuted in 1924, followed by the Champion Hurdle in 1927.

Racing shifted to the vicinity of Prestbury in 1831 after a local Reverend incited his congregation to burn down the grandstand in protest against the sport. It settled on its present site in 1908.

This membership category is limited to just over 500 people, and comes with outstanding benefits including; guaranteed access to a seat in the grandstand, season long car parking including the Festival, a complimentary racecard for each fixture and free tea and coffee up to the first race. Champion Hurdle winner, provides members with an incredible view of the racing action. It is a long-established favourite for our Members with access to Dorothy’s Café, located within the facility and the Banco Betting Shop next door.

Garrison Savannah Business Club
The Outsider is essentially, the Favourite Pass without access to November Saturday and the Festival. For the racegoer who prefers racing on days when the grandstands are less busy and the pace more sedate!
This is our corporate membership, which offers additional benefits tailored for business including regular business networking events and social occasions. The Business Club is named in honour of the 1991 Gold Cup winner, who was a locally owned horse, trained by Jenny Pitman and ridden to success by her son Mark. Membership can be invoiced and badges are transferable. Ideal for Gloucestershire- based businesses who wish to use the racecourse as a place to meet and do business.

Aintree - the ideal venue for a Members day trip
2026 ROYAL ASCOT PARADE RING PICNIC We are excited about hosting our first ever Royal Ascot in the Parade Ring on Thursday June 18th . Bring a picnic along and enjoy The Ascot Gold Cup on our giant screen. The Weighing Room will be opened up for visitors to look around and there will be a chance to have your photo taken on the Winner’s podium, with the ‘one and only’ Gold Cup. The event will be run as a fundraiser for the Centenary Community Fund, which helps good causes in the proximity of the racecourse.
2026 FILM NIGHT Take a seat at our Christmas Racing Film night. The evening will start with a welcome from a horse racing legend, and then we will sit down to enjoy a horse racing classic on the big screen. Movies under consideration for our inaugural Members Film night are The Rainbow Jacket, the 1954 classic that inspired Jenny Pitman’s career in racing, Seabiscuit, the 2003 film chronicling the story of the legendary American racehorse, or the British classic National Velvet, starring Elizabeth Taylor, with its intense racing scenes.
2027 CHELTENHAM OFFICIAL FESTIVAL PREVIEW NIGHT This long-established event always attracts a huge crowd to watch a stellar line-up of racing analysts. Over the years, the likes of Sir AP McCoy, Barry Geraghty and Ruby Walsh have graced the Centaur stage to give us their expert opinion on the best chances at The Festival. The event is free for Members, although a ticket is required. The date for 2027 is yet to be confirmed.

‘RACING FANS’ DAY TRIP Whilst the Grand National is the most famous race on Aintree’s racing programme, the true racing fan has a love of ‘The Thursday’. With four Grade 1s this is an unmissable meeting for those who love the sport! Join us on a day trip to Liverpool to enjoy one of the most enjoyable fixtures on the racing calendar. The ‘fans’ bus will leave early morning from Cheltenham Racecourse and return after racing. The trip will include a Tipping Contest and other fun activities.

Cheltenham Club The Cheltenham Club is a Private Members’ Club at Cheltenham Racecourse, with a restricted membership of just 230. It is the pinnacle of both the racecourse’s membership and hospitality tiers, yet it remains a relatively unknown opportunity to many who would surely enjoy it. Members are personally welcomed to the Cheltenham Club Room on the top floor of the stunning Princess Royal stand, where they enjoy a breathtaking race-viewing experience. The Club’s dedicated and conscientious staff are truly determined to deliver a service of the highest standard throughout the racing season. Members can expect to enjoy a private table as they indulge in the finest quality hospitality, experienced in a luxurious and comfortable environment.

CAR PARKING AT THE RACECOURSE Significant resources have gone into improving our car parks for racegoers. The vast majority of visiting cars at the Festival will be located on hard standing or temporary trackway. Insurance Bar Members have parking included in the Membership. This will be located in the Yellow Car Park zone. Princess Royal Stand and Garrison Savannah Members have parking included in the Membership. This will be located in the Red Car Park Zone. Favourite and Outsider Members will be provided with a 10% discount off public car parking.
UPGRADE YOUR CAR PARKING EXPERIENCE HALL OF FAME PARKING It is possible to purchase a reserved space for the entire season in the Hall of Fame car park. Prices range from £385 to £435. ACCESSIBILITY PARKING Accessibility Parking is available to all of our racegoers upon production
OUR RECIPROCAL DATES Each year we organise reciprocal fixtures for our members to enjoy a day’s racing at other courses across the UK and Ireland. Under the new membership offer our Insurance Bar, Princess Royal Grandstand and Cheltenham Club members will enjoy access to around 70 additional fixtures throughout the year. Members can expect to enjoy a day out at Ascot in January, Newbury in March and Goodwood in May as well as Punchestown in April and Leopardstown in December. 10% GRANDSTAND SEATING Grandstand seats can be purchased in the Main Grandstand at a discounted members rate for November Saturday and the Festival. There are three banks of seats available. South – Located at the top of the straight with a view over the finishing line. Accessible on Level 3 close to the Hall of Fame Central – Accessible via the Banco Betting Area on Level 3 in the middle section of the main grandstand.
