Torch Rally for a good cause a success!

they stopped at CCVS before finally finish- ing at Backstrom’s Independent Grocer. There, the group was greeted with a barbe- cue, courtesy of Backstrom’s. Hamburgers and hot dogs were on the menu. Grocery shoppers congratulated the runners. “We always have good weather during our Torch Rally” said Sergeant Dave Michaud, coordinator of the event. “We thought we might get rain today, but thankfully it’s sun- ny” Curious runners were treated with pictures alongside police motorcycles as well as with police officers.

CORNWALL| Cornwall police took to the streets last Wednesday, along with several students from CCVS during the annual Torch Rally. The event, held throughout Ontario, aims at raising awareness as well as funds for the Special Olympics. The runners all met at the police station, lo- cated at 330 Montreal Road.
