This can be seen in the mesh we first adopted when launching Contessa in 2002, using material with conceptual roots that stretch back centuries to the traditional crafts of Nishijin, Kyoto. We drew upon Nishijin textile techniques of weaving and thread dyeing to create durable mesh that supports the body without sagging, remains pliable enough to provide maximum comfort, and delivers a distinctive
sheer style for the chair’s contemporary form, harmonising seemingly contradictory qualities.

Blending refined aesthetics with ergonomic intelligence, Portone Smarts’ pliable frame moves naturally with the user while adjustable lumbar support reinforces healthy posture. Smart Fit Reclining automatically adapts tilt tension to body weight, delivering consistent comfort for a wide range of users.

Portone Smart Features:
• The chair automatically adjusts the reclining tension to the sitter’s weight, regardless of each person’s unique physical differences. • The backrest flexes with the motion of your body. The bend comfortably accommodates natural side-to-side movement. • With adjustable 3D Arms, respective movable ranges are 62mm for up and down, 15 degrees for inside, 15 degrees for outside, 40mm for back and forth. • Enabling superior user comfort both the depth and height of the seat can be easily adjusted by operating levers underneath. Seat Depth adjustable 52mm /4 levels fixed. Height range 120mm. • The lumbar support easily adjusts to match your physical requirement. To adjust, simply grasp the lower ridge of the lumbar support and push up or down.
