OCTOBER CHALLENGE LET’S GET STRONGER TOGETHER! October isNationalPhysicalTherapyMonth. AT PTIS we are doing a “Push Up and Squat Challenge” for each day in October. We encouragepeopleofallagesandabilities to participate. We have directions for standard to advanced-level and multiple variations. These two exercises will help both your upperbodyand lowerbodystrength,aswell as your core strength. Each staff member is participating in the challenge and we “challenge” you to participate also. HELPING NEIGHBORS SOCK/SLIPPER DRIVE FOR PSHR In our continued efforts to support our local community, PTIS is sponsoring a Sock/ Slipper drive for the Pearl Street Health and RehabilitationCenter (PSHR)which is located across the street from our Pearl clinic. The residents at PSHR are in dire need of socks and slippers for the winter season. The staff at PTIS are donating sock/slipper pairs and we are asking that interested patients also participate. The plan is to deliver all socks/ slipperspriortoChristmas.Thanksforhelping us help neighbors. FUNDRAISER EVENT: OnSaturday,November 9th, the PTIS physical therapists will treat patients for cash payments (only) with 100% proceeds going to the PSHR sock/slipper purchases. Hours of this fundraising- treatment event will be 9am-12pm. Call PTIS to make an appointment.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT: MARK ANDERSEN-NISSEN PT, DPT MARK ANDERSEN-NISSEN earned his Doctorate of PhysicalTherapyfromtheUniversityofColorado in2017 and is currently working towards completing his COMT (Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist) training. Born in Vermont, he spent a good part of his life traveling, even living abroad in France for several years. Drawn to

the mountains, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of Denver. Mark integrates hands-on treatment and functional exercise to make his patients better. Outside of work, Mark is a runner and currently believes he can outrun all the staff. The PTIS staff says, “Let the games begin!” He is also an avid cyclist and hiker.
