the papers, these Socialists have folded this literature into them, thus insuring that it shall come directly into the hands of all readers as they open their papers. Such zeal as that for such a cause as Socialism should shame us as Christian workers today! There is a legend that has come down to us from the middle ages of a certain child of God who dreamed that he had died, and that he was carried to Heaven. He was entranced with the beauties of that land that is fairer than day. As Christ led him from one height of glory to another, his heart was enraptured with wonder and delight. But then, according to the legend, the Master brought him at last to a point on the walls where he could not only see the whole dazzling beauty of the City of gold and pearl spread out before him, but he could also look downward to the earth from which he had come. And when they reached that point, the Master said, “ There is one thing more before you come permanently into Heaven. I want you to look down to the earth below and tell me what you see.’’ And the man looked, and as he looked his eyes began to dilate with horror. The Master asked him, “What do you see?” He said, “Oh, Master, I see a great dark plane, and I see an uncounted multitude of human beings rushing on to destruction. The front ranks are constantly falling over a deep dark precipice. They are falling— fall ing— falling! ” The Master asked, “Well, what impresses you most about it?” And the man replied, “Oh, Master, 1 am most impressed with the heartbreaking fact that there seems to be no one to warn them. They are rushing on unwarned.” Then Jesus said, “Well, come on into Heaven.” But that visitor from the fields of earth said, “O no, Master, not now, not yet! I cannot! Let me go back and warn them!”

Thank God for the thought that when our days of service here are over, when we have faithfully warned those whom we may be privileged to meet, against the pitfalls of sin and spiritual death, and pointed them to the shining heights of Heaven-S-thank God for the thought that we will have a place reserved for us at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb! May I say this personal word: In these recent days,— since my precious little daughter of twelve and a half years was called home—-I have found inexpressible comfort in the thought that her seat will not be empty. She truly believed in the Son of God. She accepted Him as Saviour and Lord. In her bright, childish way, she made her brave confession of faith; and to this father’s heart, the loveliest sight that he ever looked upon was her beautiful face when he saw it beneath the waters as he “ buried her with Christ in bap tism.” How sweet it will be, when our days of service here are over, to all be gathered home to glory and to God, and to see each one occupying the place prepared by our Saviour and our King! “On that bright and golden morning, when the Son of Man shall come, And the radiance of His glory we shall see; When from every clime and nations He shall call His people home— - What a gath’ring of the ransomed that will be!”

The Children’s Garden is wonderfully interesting to “ Grown-ups” as well as the children. Don’t fail to read the three splendid stories written by the children themselves on page 567.
