The District Welcomes WorldPride in 2025

WorldPride Music Festival: Global Dance Party, June 6-7 — The two-day music festival will take place at the RFK Festival Grounds and feature three stages with top artists from diverse musical genres. Details on performers will be announced in the coming months. WorldPride Parade, June 7 — DC’s Pride Parade is as legendary as it is emblematic of the historic Pride movement. In 2025, it will span nearly 20 city blocks along Constitution Avenue providing par - ticipants with an unparalleled backdrop to celebrate and embrace the full rainbow of the community. Ornate floats, celebrity marshals, and dozens of groups representing the LGBTQ+ community participate in the joyous procession on the parade route that this time will be flanked by the National Mall, featuring awe-inspiring monuments, museums, and cultural institutions. WorldPride Weekend, June 7-8 — An extension of the festivities, the WorldPride Street Festival and Concert will be on the National Mall and feature hundreds of tented exhibitors including LGBTQ+ organizations, artisans, food and drink gardens, and carnival style games. The celebrations will also include multiple stages and dance parties, featuring multicultural and multilingual performances, local talent, and national headliners. International Rally and March, June 8 — The Rally will begin on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and feature renowned LGBTQ+
Coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the city’s Capital Pride cel - ebrations, Washington, DC is the official host of WorldPride, May 23 - June 8, 2025. Interpride, the international association representing more than 400 Pride organizations in 70 countries, along with hosts at the Capital Pride Alliance (CPA), are expecting an estimated three million visitors from around the globe to join in this momentous cel- ebration. The official theme of WorldPride Washington, DC 2025 is “The Fabric of Freedom.” WorldPride DC will feature dynamic and innovative programming and cultural events designed to inspire, connect, and empower the LGBTQ+ community, highlighting the diversity and inclusivity of the U.S. capital city and everything it has to offer. Here is a quick look at some of the event highlights scheduled to take place during this week- long festival. Opening Ceremony and Concert, May 30-31 — The opening ceremony events will take place at Nationals Park and include re- marks, a flag-raising ceremony by key dignitaries, food and drink, and an interactive light display, culminating with a live concert headlined by Grammy award-winning Latin superstar Shakira. The welcoming event will also kick-off the inaugural Capital Cup, a WorldPride Sports Festival that unites LGBTQ+ athletes and leagues in friendly celebra - tion and competition. International Human Rights Conference, June 4-6 — The Capital Pride Alliance is partnering with leading organizations in the field of Human Rights for 3 days of programming and speakers that
