Surveys

Have your say on the National Minimum Wage rates for 2023 Published: 22 April 2022 Emailed: 27 April 2022

Each year the UK government provided the Low Pay Commission (LPC) with its remit to advise on the National Living Wage (NLW) and National Minimum Wage (NMW) rates. From this remit, the LPC publish a consultation seeking to inform is suggestions on the minimum wage rates.

The CIPP’s Policy and Research team will be submitting a formal written response to the LPC’s consultation that centres on what the NLW and NMW rates should be from April 2023.

In order to collate your views, we have assembled a survey for you to complete, which will allow you to have your say and potentially shape the future of the NLW and NMW rates that will be applied next year. The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete, and we know how busy payroll professionals are, particularly at the moment, so we really appreciate any time and effort taken to contribute.

The survey invites feedback and opinions on:

• The impacts of the 2022 changes to NLW and NMW rates, particularly for apprentices and 21 – 22-year-olds. • The affordability of the NLW rates proposed for 2023 and, in the longer-term, for 2024 • The intention of reducing the NLW age to 21 by 2024 • Awareness of the accommodation offset rules

The survey will close at 23:45 on Monday 9 May 2022, so don’t mi ss the opportunity to have your say.
