From the poll results its is evident that the incentives for employers to hire apprentices still require additional support and the National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) is one key platform to promote this. However there is also prospective for this to develop further in organisations, with 15% looking to adopt this scheme.

New Quick Poll: What employee benefits are you / your clients’ offering during the cost-of-living crisis?

The latest Quick Poll is now available on the CIPP news page. With inflation soaring and the rise in living costs, this is having an impact on workers across the country. The CIPP wan t to know what you / your clients’ are doing to alleviate the financial hardship on employees due to the cost-of-living crisis? While action from government is crucial, employers and businesses can make a positive difference to the pressures being faced. Many businesses and employers are introducing or looking to better current practices in the workplace to aid the financial burden for employees. Some methods include one-off payments, hybrid working, season ticket loans, staff discounts, buy and selling of holiday entitlement and cycle-to-work schemes. Employers are also engaging in more communication with staff by opting for anonymous surveys, to gain a better understanding of how they can help.

From the poll results it is evident that salary sacrifice schemes in a workplace are popular and crucial factors for this is that the employee can make tax savings, such as tax relief on pension contributions.
