THE NEW PLATFORM STREAMLINES HOW REGISTERED ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS HANDLE CERTIFICATION AND IS SET TO REPLACE EXISTING ELECTRONIC AND PAPER SYSTEMS... Safe Electric presents new Electronic Certification System

Neale Dalton, Inspections and Technical Co-Ordinator, outlines Safe Electric’s new Electronic Certification System during his trade talk at Electex Dublin 2025.

A presentation on Safe Electric’s new Electronic Certification System (ECS) was among the most-popular trade talks featured at the recent Electex Dublin trade show. Set to replace the current Electronic Completion Certification (ECC) and eventually the paper-based system, the new ECS platform streamlines how Registered Electrical Contractors (RECs) handle certification. Safe Electric Inspections and Technical Co-Ordinator Neale Dalton’s outlined the new system during presentations on both days of the event held over September 10-11. His talk attracted strong interest from RECs, reflecting both demand for modernisation in electrical certification and the importance of the Safe Electric regulatory scheme within the electrical industry. ECS has been designed around four principles: speed, security, simplicity and standards. Key features highlighted during the presentation included: • A secure, self-service payment system with full transaction history and downloadable receipts. • Log in easily and securely using your email.

• A certificate history dashboard with advanced search and filtering. • Simplified digital forms for faster certificate generation. • Full integration with Safe Electric’s database, eliminating delays and paper returns. • One-click access to essential

This hands-on engagement gave RECs the opportunity to explore functionalities in real time, from purchasing certificates to generating them on the spot. “The feedback we received at the Training Hubs was invaluable,” said Neale. “Seeing RECs interact with ECS in real time reenforced our view that ECS will be an effective tool, and the general opinion in the room was that most RECs were very impressed with the new system.” The launch of ECS represents more than just a digital upgrade, it is a step change which drives greater compliance, oversight and reduced administrative burden. For Safe Electric, the system underscores its mission to support RECs while safeguarding standards across the industry. The new platform is designed to reshape how certification fits into the modern workflow of RECs. “By the end of this year, we expect that all RECs will be able to access and use the system seamlessly,” said Neale. “This marks a major step forward in how certification is managed in Ireland, and we’re excited to support RECs through this transition.”

documents such as Test Record Sheets and Notices of Potential Hazard.

• Dashboard alerts for insurance and Qualified Certifier (QC) expiry dates. • Easy employee management, including adding or removing QCs from contractor accounts. Speaking to attendees, Neale emphasised the transformative nature of ECS. “This system is a game-changer for both Safe Electric and the wider industry,” he said. “It takes away layers of manual work and gives contractors the tools they need to stay compliant with less effort and greater confidence and in that, it will remove a lot of unnecessary paperwork and make it easier for everyone involved, as all information will be on one platform.” To bring the system to life, Electex attendees were invited to visit the Training Hub, where Safe Electric demonstrated the live version of ECS.
