CREATING SUSTAINABLE ART Richard tries to work sustainably, researching the process for recycling glass and reusing materials wherever possible. His purpose-built studio is located at the bottom of his garden, keeping his commute – and therefore carbon footprint – to the bare minimum. He adds: “I use as little materials as I can. I waste virtually nothing, to the extent that I’ve been saving all the leftover oils from the last six years, and I will be turning them into a large sculpture of solidified oil paint. Nothing goes in the bin, nothing is wasted.”
