Moving from their previous home within the Coppergate Centre was a bittersweet moment our York gallery team, having resided there for so many years. However, their new home on the prestigious St Helen’s Square has proved quite a consolation! Located between the world famous Betty’s Tea Rooms and The Ivy, the setting is a bustling hotspot for local residents and tourists alike. A mere stone’s throw from the historic street of Stonegate, the new gallery is situated a short walk away from York Minster, northern Europe’s largest medieval cathedral and one of the world’s most beautiful displays of Gothic architecture. A city steeped in history and heritage, tracing its roots back to Viking and Roman settlements, it is a city deeply connected to arts and culture. Our new gallery, with its varied and eclectic collection
of original and limited edition contemporary fine art has long been a valued contributor to York’s flourishing arts scene, and will continue to be regarded as such in its new home. With over 1,000 sq ft of beautifully refurbished space, the team has more scope than ever to curate displays that showcase the full Castle Fine Art portfolio. The gallery’s design features a range of wooden and metallic textures, luxe jewel tone soft furnishings, a bar area, viewing pod and a statement burned ochre colour wall at the rear of the space.
