Q&A FLOGAS

‘If I could turn the clock back, I would have studied engineering over accounting in college’

FLOGAS IRELAND INSTALLER

DEVELOPMENT MANAGER MIKE MURPHY FIRST JOINED THE BUSINESS IN 2006, WITH HIS ROLE EVOLVING ALONGSIDE

ITS EXPANSION INTO A TOTAL

ENERGY SOLUTIONS COMPANY OFFERING LPG, NATURAL GAS, ELECTRICITY AND RENEWABLE ENERGY…

When did you join Flogas, and what is your professional background? I joined Flogas in 2006 as a sales representative for the LPG business and, in 2022, I took on the newly-created role of installer development manager. I grew up in Tralee, studied accounting in NIHE (now UL) and began my career in the accounts department of Kerry Group. But I wasn’t happy working in an office and wanted to be out and about, so I applied for a sales representative job within the company and looked after the Yoplait franchise for Limerick and West Cork for 15 years. What motivated you to transition into the energy sector? I love energy and technology, and a gas boiler is a fabulous piece of kit. If I could turn the clock back, I would have studied engineering over accounting in college. When I spotted that Flogas was looking for a sales representative for

Mike Murphy.
