Reserving fresh cooled semen on our studs
1) Call early to reserve your breed date and let us know your approximate head count (10 head minimum to ship fresh cooled semen, donors count as two head). Call with your first AND second (backup) choice of rams. 2) As soon as possible, get us your shipping information. We recommend shipping FedEx First Overnight or UPS Early Air and having your shipment HELD FOR PICK UP at a ship center or hub. Keep in mind your drive time so your breed time accommodates. 3) Fresh cooled semen is collected and shipped THE DAY BEFORE your breed date. Reach out a few days before your breed date to check on ram fertility, and finalize head count and shipping plans. 4) Semen will be shipped in Equine Express boxes that include a Styrofoam cooler and cold pack. Leave the box unopened and at room temperature until your vet or AI technician is ready to check the semen. 5) After your repro work, contact us with your final head count and we’ll send you a QuickBooks invoice for semen and shipping reimbursement that can be paid via eCheck.
FROZEN SEMEN is also available on many of our studs. We recommend buying frozen semen online through the RSG Sire Catalog.
