SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability is an all-encompassing theme and is an impor- tant topic in both media and politics. At in-lite and in-lite lab. we also increasingly realize that we must take steps to protect the environment. This is a responsibility we start to feel more and more. For example, in the past few years we have said goodbye to luminaires with a halogen light source, we have taken steps to reduce the plastic in our packaging and we have made all the leds in our luminaires more sustainable. In the use of the luminaires and the system, steps can be made that benefit the world. For example, we always advise to divide a lighting plan into different zones. This way, you can determine per zone for how many hours the luminaires have to be on and the energy consumption can be reduced even more. It is also important to think about light pollution. Make sure that luminaires are always aimed at something and do not randomly shine up. A good lighting plan contributes to the atmosphere and safety around the house and in the garden, without causing light pollution and consuming excess energy.

LIGHT AND BEYOND

MAINTENANCE

Like the rest of your yard, your outdoor lighting also requires maintenance. This contributes to the durability of the fix- tures. Clean your outdoor lighting with a clean rag and hot water at least once each year, such as in the spring. Be sure to switch off the electricity - especially for fixtures connec- ted to 100-230 volts! Even though stainless steel is rust-proof, dirt deposits, ferti- lizers and salt can cause it to rust. A special cleaning agent is therefore available for fixtures with stainless steel parts: INNOSHINE D5750 and INNOCARE D580. Treat the fixtures with these cleaning and protective products immediately af- ter installation and repeat this treatment once each year. Should oxidation occur, you can also treat it using these products.
