Aside from money, young executives need to feel empowered in the company, contrary to widespread notion that money is the only thing that matters to them. According to a recent survey conducted by Ifop for Cadremploi, 79 percent of young executives under the age of 35 share this sentiment and are upfront about it with their elders. Obtaining an interesting mission demonstrates a level of devotion to the company’s operation. The youthful executives place a high value on that decision since it demonstrates the company’s trust in them. A PROFESSIONAL PATH THAT IS SOMEWHAT ADAPTABLE. Unlike older executives, younger executives are more receptive to the idea of professional retraining and are more adaptable to the potential of making a career transition. According to a BVA survey, 81 percent of CEOs under 35 believe they could be persuaded to change careers (against 66 percent of executives altogether). 58 percent of them are willing to doing temporary job to a lesser level. 44 percent of those under the age of 35 believe they will be persuaded to change their status at some time in their careers (against 33 percent of the 35-49 years old and 19 percent of the over 50). Finally, young executives feel they are more prepared to start their own firm than other young people (70 percent) (81 percent ).
