This pivotal role is designed to drive business growth and maintain a competitive edge across their services. Following his recent appointment, the Group Business Development Director, Amit Dixit is growing a high performing team to drive growth and impact across the group. This appointment is integral to achieving Provide’s ambition. The Director of Bids will build the bidding function in the Provide group of companies. You will define the bid and capture strategy and will oversee the entire lifecycle of bid activities, from identifying opportunities and qualifying leads to crafting compelling proposals, managing submissions and the wider bid team.

JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE Director of Bids LOCATION Colchester Headquarters / Remote / Travel as required REPORTS TO Group Business Development Director HOURS 37.5 per week ROLE SUMMARY The Director of Bids is a pivotal role within Provide Community Interest Company (CiC) and is responsible for leading the bid strategy and managing the end-to-end bid process. The role requires an experienced professional who can develop a proactive bid strategy, move the organisation’s approach from reactive to proactive, and ensure that the Provide group of companies remains competitive in winning healthcare contracts, including significant NHS tenders. Reporting directly to the Group Business Development Director, this role involves managing multiple stakeholders, including Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), to deliver high-quality, compliant, and compelling bids. You will provide leadership across the bid function, ensuring that bid processes are streamlined, flexible, and effective in securing contracts that align with Provide CIC’s growth objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Bid Strategy & Leadership • Develop and lead the bid strategy across Provide CIC, moving from a reactive approach to a proactive strategy to enhance the strike rate of contract wins. • Direct the capture, development, and submission of bids for healthcare services, with a focus on NHS tenders via Competitive Tender and Most Suitable Provider methods. • Develop and implement a robust yet flexible bid process that accommodates Provide CIC’s diverse group of companies. Stakeholder & People Management • Manage and coach Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure their expertise is leveraged to produce high-quality bid submissions. • Engage with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure alignment with bid strategies and to maintain strong client relationships. • Collaborate closely with the Director of Strategic Partnerships, Operations Directors, the Director of Commercial Finance and other colleagues to enable effective bids. • Develop and lead a high performing team comprising of a bid writer and executive. Bid Development & Process Improvement • Oversee the full lifecycle of bids, from opportunity identification through submission, interview, presentations, negotiation and competitive dialogue, ensuring compliance with client requirements. • Ensure the timely delivery of bids,

working with SMEs to draft and review content to meet submission deadlines. • Lead responses to the NHS Provider Selection Regime processes from Direct Awards through to Most Suitable Provider and Competitive tender processes. • Continuously improve the bid process to ensure agility, quality, and compliance in all submissions. Governance & Risk Management • Implement governance frameworks to ensure all bids meet internal and external compliance standards, including the use of gateway templates and risk registers. • Manage the sign-off process for bids, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team (Chief Officers) to ensure final submissions are approved at the highest level. Performance Analysis • Conduct post-bid reviews, analysing outcomes to identify areas for improvement and implement lessons learned into future bids. • Monitor and evaluate bid performance, ensuring continuous improvement of the bidding process and enhancing the strike rate for contract wins. • Pipeline, win and capture rate reporting as well as commissioning trend and market analyses. Financial & Contract Mobilisation • Work closely with the Director of Commercial Finance on bid financial modeling, ensuring accurate costings and financial viability of bids. • Oversee the mobilisation of successful bids, ensuring a smooth transition from bid win to contract execution.

EXPERIENCE • Proven track record of leading bid teams and managing the end-to-end bid process within the healthcare sector. • Extensive experience with NHS procurement processes, including the Provider Selection Regime’s Direct Awards, Most Suitable Provider and Competitive Tender and methods. • Strong leadership and people management experience, with the ability to coach and develop SMEs and bid teams. • Experience in driving process improvements and implementing governance frameworks in bid management. • Demonstrable experience in working with financial teams on bid modelling and contract mobilisation. SKILLS AND APTITUDES • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to shift bid strategy from reactive to proactive. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and manage senior stakeholders. • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines. • Proficient in bid management tools, Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), CRMs and contract sourcing tools • Ability to manage risk, ensure compliance, and deliver governance oversight in bid submissions. OTHER REQUIREMENTS • There will be an opportunity to support Merger and Acquistion processes from developing target lists, through to approaches and due diligence and other deal activity. • The postholder must be willing to travel across the South East/England/UK as required. • There may be additional duties required to support the organisation, including work outside the postholder’s usual scope of activities, which will be agreed upon following consultation.

Salary range £80-90k plus

Discretionary payment plan (bonus)
