HAWKESBURY MAN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER

Investigation identified a suspect in the case and several hours later police arrested a man in a location close to the Main Street downtown area. Several of the arresting officers involved wore body armour and carried assault rifles as a precaution. J BTPO McGregor, 41, of Hawkesbury is charged with attempted murder. He remained in custody until a bail hearing scheduled for Monday, October 27, at the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal. Investigation continues in the case.

Kelly, mais il a noté que les adolescents perçoivent les «opioïdes sur ordonnance» comme plus sûrs que les «drogues de rue». Cependant, les jeunes sont toujours exposés au risque de surdose en raison d’un approvisionnement en drogues toxiques, a-t-il ajouté. Un éditorial publié lundi dans le Journal de l’Association médicale canadienne indique que de plus en plus de jeunes consomment des opioïdes et appelle à une action urgente pour les traiter lorsqu’ils développent une dépendance. «Ce qui est inquiétant, c’est que nous savons qu’une consommation précoce est associée à des manifestations plus graves et à une progression plus probable vers la dépendance ou un trouble grave lié à l’utilisation d’opioïdes», a déclaré le Dr Shawn Kelly, coauteur de l’article et pédiatre spécialisé dans le traitement des dépendances à Ottawa. M. Kelly et la coauteure, la Dre Shannon Charlebois, rédactrice médicale du JAMC, POUDJUÊMFTEPOOÊFTEFM&ORVËUFTVSMB consommation de drogues et la santé des élèves de l’Ontario, qui a révélé une augmen- tation spectaculaire de la consommation d’analgésiques sur ordonnance pour des raisons non médicales, passant de 12,7 % en 2021 à 21,8 % en 2023. $FUUFFORVËUFJOEJRVBJUÊHBMFNFOURVF les élèves de la 7e à la 9e année étaient plus susceptibles de déclarer consommer ces opioïdes que les élèves plus âgés, de la 10e à la 12e année. Un autre article cité dans l’éditorial a révélé que certains jeunes avaient commencé à consommer des opioïdes dès l’âge de 10 ans. M. Kelly a qualifié ces données de «choquantes», mais elles reflètent ce qu’il
