Year 3 collaboration with James Allen’s Girls’ School and Sydenham High School n This academic year saw the DCJS boys work collaboratively alongside girls from SHS and JAGS. Across the year, 11 events were held, that offered academic stretch and challenge, opportunities to foster new friendships and to develop new skills, in differing environments. Each school involved with the project took it in turns to host different events throughout the year and numerous members of staff hosted amazing sessions for the pupils to really benefit from. Our great thanks go to the staff from the Junior School, SHS and JAGS for the incredible effort that they put into creating meaningful, engaging and exciting activities that offered new horizons to the curious minds of our pupils. In Year 3, the year kicked off with a teambuilding afternoon where eggs were safely transported off the Christison Hall with parachutes, bridges were made to span the gaps between the desk in 3L and lots of cookies were consumed! In Lent, Year 3 had a fabulous time on a collaborative art day at Sydenham High School and they managed to produce a wonderful piece proudly displayed in the upstairs Junior School corridor. The year concluded with an engineering day focussed on international sustainability goals. The morning concluded with the Year 3 pupils working collaboratively on a floating garden design to support farmers in countries such as Bangladesh, which undergoes frequent flooding.
