Year 5 collaboration with James Allen’s Girls’ School n In Year 5, the year began with a multi-sports day on the 3G astro at DC. Year 5 from DC and JAGS teamed up to play a range of different games including frisbee and handball – sports not normally on the curriculum! Year 5 also took part in the very first Economics afternoon at the Junior School. We were fortunate to have to teachers Dr James Wisson and Mr Oliver Gardner host the event in two locations across campus. Children teamed up to create their own car company, making decisions to maximise profit in an ever-changing economic landscape. It was clear that there might well be some future entrepreneurs from the competitive and creative buzz around the locations but much was learned by all. The year concluded in Year 5 with a Drama and Puppet workshop at James Allen’s Girls’ School (JAGS) where all the pupils received a fascinating lecture about the history of puppets in workshops as well as an opportunity to create one of their own.
