first spark and then using this to create a fire! Finally, the boys learnt to hunt like a gladiator; throwing spears with precision and power. After an action-packed time in the woods the boys returned to camp with boundless energy! They enjoyed a campfire dinner before going on a night time walk. With excitement (& noise!) high, there was varying success in seeing animals although one group did see a pheasant, another was incredibly lucky seeing a badger and its baby. After a story in the woods, we returned to camp by torchlight and settled into bed after some much needed marshmallows. With an early start on Friday, the boys continued on with their brilliant activities before a well-deserved lunch and nap on the way home.

n In May, a very excited coach of Year 3s headed off to Wowo Campsite for our highly anticipated residential! As the sun beat down, the boys were first tasked with putting up their tents. They demonstrated incredible team work and patience with every tent managing to keep everyone dry, (relatively!) warm and all managed to still be standing as we left on Friday. After working up an appetite with cries of ‘it’s been days since breakfast!’ echoing around the site, we settled down to our well- deserved lunch. In the afternoon we were quick to make our way to The Big Wood where Really Wild Bushcraft led the boys through a range of fantastic Roman activities. The boys learnt to forage like Romans, eating nettles and other plants, learnt to make a fire using a battery and metal before progressing onto using a steel and flint. There were many squeals of delight producing our
