Head of Estates and Facilities Trust Sites in Exeter and Plymouth (Base: St Lukes School, Exeter) Deputy CEO £61,851 to £70,382
Key Purpose of Job • Strategic Leadership: Be part of the Business Executive Team.
• Ambitious Futures: Lead investment in estates, through the development, monitoring and management of capital and maintenance expenditure programmes, ensuring engagement with staff, student and parent communities. • Safe spaces: Ensuring premises and services meet the safe, suitable and sufficient standards and contribute to an outstanding teaching and learning environment. • Effective services: Drive the improvement of facilities management across the Trust and be accountable for the quality of service provision and management of Fusion School Services Ltd. Key Duties and Accountabilities of the Post Strategic Leadership and Ambitious Futures • Develop, implement and oversee the estates strategic, annual and medium-term plans based on condition surveys and educational needs. • Liaise with Trust schools in the development of educational business plans, preparing initial assessments of viability, facilitating the design and costing of projects through to Board commitment. • Provide advice to schools/Trust and support the project management and monitoring of major and minor building project/repair work across the estate including projects addressing condition, school priorities and new build. • Sustainability – Review energy usage and develop proposals for carbon reduction across Trust schools. • Funding – prioritise within available funds, sourcing additional funding opportunities for Trust and school development priorities. • Risk management – commit to the growth and maintenance of a positive risk management culture within the Trust, taking a leading / supportive role in connection with risk assessments for all related aspects of work. Leadership and Development • Line management of the Estates function including undertaking all people processes and ensuring that the support to academies is high quality and supports effective estates management. • Contract management: own and develop relationships with suppliers to support quality support and services. • Develop guidance, advisory notes and training forums for colleagues – school and central.
