Our Schools The Ted Wragg Trust currently consists of 13 schools across Exeter, Plymouth and Crediton, including four primary schools, eight secondary schools, one all-through school, with our additional new all-through school, Matford Brook Academy, in South West Exeter opening in September 2023. Four of the Exeter Schools were constructed under the Exeter Schools Private Finance Initiative, a 28 year project running until 2033 covering the city's five secondary schools and one primary school, Wynstream. The Project Agreement is between Devon County Council (DCC) and the Project Company, however the commercial and operational interface with the project company and its sub-contractors is undertaken by the Trust under a separate agreement. This seeks to give the Trust influence over and control of commercial and operational matters that affect cost, ensuring all the six schools (including two that are non-Trust), secure optimal operational benefit and value. Increasingly, the Trust's soft services are being positioned and managed through the Trust's wholly-owned trading subsidiary Fusion School Services Ltd which was setup in April 2021 to facilitate and optimise the delivery of services that were previously out-sourced. It is intended that Fusion will manage lettings, grounds maintenance, catering, pest control, waste management and cleaning through a combination of direct delivery and service contracts.
Exwick Heights Primary School Exwick Heights is a large Outstanding Primary and Teaching School and is built on the edge of Exeter's green fringe, occupying a fantastic position in terms of its semi-rural location and position with long views across Exeter city. Two existing primary schools were brought together in 2008, turning a greenfield site into a vibrant mixed-use development, which serves both local primary children and the wider community. Exwick Heights is a committed learning community dedicated to providing the best educational experiences for their pupils.
