By Jamie Barrie U rban myths have always suggested that early on in the processing of Coca-Cola that coca leaves, the origin of the drug cocaine, were part of the original formula. Coca-Cola has always denied any suggestion that cocaine was ever used as part of the iconic beverage. However there is no denying that the drug was part of a recent discovery at their factory in southern France. While opening a delivery of fruit juice concentrate from Costa Rica at their plant in southern France workers found an enormous stash of cocaine. The drugs which originated from Costa Rica weighed in at just over 370 kilograms with a net worth $55 million dollars U.S. on the street. The factory where the discovery was made is in a town called Signes near the Mediterranean Coast. Spokesperson for Coca-Cola says after employees noticed the strange package at the factory they immediately contacted police. The Marseille prosecutor’s office said Wednesday it opened an investigation into trafficking and importing illegal drugs. Spokesperson for the company stated the workers were surprised when they discovered the shipment and all have been ruled out as potential suspects in the ongoing investigation.

The drugs were found in a shipping container that was delivering orange juice to the factory for processing.
