THE COMEBACK KID H e came at us more than two decades ago like a kid out of high school, his hair spiked with gel, wearing a black leather Kellerman said. “The Ring has been the sport’s publication of record for over 100 years, and with the new vision for the brand, it is clearly leading boxing into the future.” WITH MAX KELLERMAN BACK IN THE

jacket as an analyst on ESPN2’s Friday Night Fights. He took his share of derision from the old guard over his boyish exuberance, but it was all rooted in his childhood love: boxing. In time, Max Kellerman grew on all of us. The leather jacket went, along with the gel. His opinions grew in significance. His appearance at ringside added importance to fights. His face became synonymous with boxing. Kellerman has now brought his crossover credibility to a new platform, Inside The Ring , with respected boxing reporter Mike Coppinger along with former NFL player and hardcore fan LeSean McCoy, covering the sport each Monday at 2 p.m. ET on DAZN. “This is the type of show boxing has always needed and never had,”

Kellerman returns to the sport after being a ringside commentator for HBO’s World Championship Boxing for 13 years (2005-2018), and as one of ESPN’s most knowledgeable talk show hosts on SportsNation and First Take . Since June 2023, when he’d been a part of ESPN’s massive network-wide layoffs, Kellerman had been waiting for his chance to resurface. He feels he has his answer with Inside The Ring , produced by Peyton and Eli Manning’s Omaha Productions, the same media company behind ESPN’s live Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli broadcasts, as well as the Places series and Netflix’s Quarterback and Receiver docuseries. Boxing missed Max Kellerman.
