Sylvie Laflamme, enseignante à l’École catholique primaire Saint-Joseph de Russell, vient de prendre sa retraite après 29 ans passés auprès des jeunes de cet établisse- ment scolaire. Mme Laflamme a commencé sa carrière à Kingston où elle a enseigné, pendant deux ans, aux élèves de la maternelle dans la seule école francophone de la ville. En 1984, elle revient dans la région de Prescott-Russell, sa région natale, pour enseigner et ne plus jamais quitter l’école primaire, à Russell. Tout au long de ses 29 ans de carrière, elle enseignera aux élèves des niveaux allant du jardin à la 3e année.
