shelf/dynamic display labels anticipate rapid growth with a forecasted CAGR of 6.2 percent, underscoring the dynam- ic nature of retail inventory management and the increas- ing demand for efficiency. Smart labels continue to play a crucial role in retail en- vironments, addressing key challenges such as shoplifting and theft prevention, with this segment being the predom- inant revenue contributor in 2022. Diversified Labeling Solutions Expands RFID Capabilities Diversified Labeling Solutions (DLS), a national convert- er of pressure sensitive labels, has added a new servo diecutter station as an expansion to its RFID production capabilities. The new servo diecutter station from Mark Andy gives DLS the advantage of inserting RFID inlays into preprinted material from any press, including the HP Indi- go, as well as preprinted webs from other print companies. This allows for expanded prime RFID label production. In addition to the new prime RFID label offering, DLS provides stock and custom RFID labels, Walmart RFID la- bels, service bureau printing and encoding, TSC Printr- onix RFID printers, and customer support, such as RFID label training.

This year, International Label & Printing won the award for its work on Feather Hills Vineyard & Winery label and on the La Vida Mas Fina standalone display. JK Machinery Fights Against Counterfeit Goods A family-run business in Yorkshire is set to revolutionise the fight against counterfeit goods with a new security label that will help genuine brands protect their products from forgery. JK Machinery, Barnsley, Yorkshire, UK, which special- izes in the flexographic printing of labels and packaging, has developed a security label that can be scanned by an app to verify a product’s authenticity. The company has se- cured a patent for this label design and is now focused on perfecting its production at scale. To support this initiative, JK Machinery has invested in a printing press. “We’re very excited about developing this new type of security labeling for manufacturers and producers whose high-quality goods are often targeted by fraudsters trying to pass off their own fakes as the genuine article,” said Jack Round, the company’s Technical Director. The security labels will feature complex embedded code behind the print and invisible to the naked eye, which can be scanned by an app. This technology is designed to be more secure than the commonly used QR codes, which can potentially be copied.
