5 Latina Fashionistas to Follow for Your Fall Wardrobe

If you’re ready to retire some of your summer duds and move into fall fashion, look no further than your favorite Latina bloggers, designers, and fashion experts on Instagram for inspiration! Even if it doesn’t get cold in Texas, you can still borrow ideas from these fashion-forward ladies. Here are five trends that you’ll want to incorporate for the fall. 1. Denim jackets On a recent visit to New York, Model Vanessa Romo showed us that denim is here to stay for the fall. Her Selena-inspired look, with a black mesh shirt and bustier with black pants, was made an instant classic when paired with a denim jacket. 2. High-waisted trousers Dominican style expert Penelope Ramirez demonstrated how a high waist can be a petite girls’ best friend. Choose key pieces, Ramirez suggests, like high-waisted trousers paired with a heel, to create the illusion of height. 3. Florals Call them the seasonless accent — florals happily have a place in the fall and winter when paired with moodier, smokier colors like charcoal, navy, and ebony. Model Sheila Lopez looked fierce when she wore a black dress that featured pink and green florals. Pair it with over-the-knee boots and a black jacket like Lopez, and you’ll feel invincible.

4. Mixed Prints

Bring fun and playfulness to your wardrobe with a pop of color and mixed prints. Try a subtly-striped top with polka dot pants in the same hue with bright earrings, like the look blogger Chelsea H. shared on her Instagram. Colombian designer Johanna Ortiz drew inspiration for her latest collection while sifting through her grandfather’s military wardrobe. The result? Officer-inspired coats and diamante pins in South American rancho style, and you can wear the same. Pair a few rancho accents — pins, bandanas, western hats, studded boots — with feminine dresses and flowy tops for an opposites-attract look that will prove irresistible.
