to the manger? Scholars may differ on how far the wise men traveled to visit the village cradling the Christ child. But it is agreed they came from afar. While wise men traveled, others quite comfortable within that little town of Bethlehem probably saw the same light, but neglected to cross town to see Him. Scripture pointed to His birth in Bethlehem of Judea, but His coming there barely disturbed life's normal routine. Yet, besides the great Herod, how many pretended an interest in worshipping Him? Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the world, a contemporary of first century Judean citizens found only casual welcome by some nearest the manger. Is it different today? Because He is the living Christ, He is contemporary to 20th century urban citizens, too. Hovv diligently do we seek Him? Who now inquires, "How far to the manger?"
